Is Kate Middleton expecting twins? That’s the rumor going around royal circles, for the second time in as many years, and Kate Middleton pregnancies.
At the root of it is Kate’s severe morning sickness, or hyperemesis gravidarum, that has sidelined her both times and is often associated with twins.
Twins didn’t materialize as rumored the first time Prince William got Kate Middleton pregnant, of course, so it would still be a long shot this time.
But a lot of people over in the UK would apparently take that action!
The royal betting market, which hilariously exists, has seen plenty of wagering on the 32-year-old having not one, but two royal babies come 2015.
The William Hill betting firm says it recently received about 200 bets on the arrival of twins, including “a significant gamble” that was made in York.
That’s enough to send the odds tumbling down from 20:1 to 9:1.
The bookmaker says betting was halted when a series of new accounts were opened, including one from someone who which wanted a $ 325 bet.
This amount is more than 20 times the average bet on this kind of novelty wager, a red flag to the firm, which looks out for irregularities at all times.
“We’ve had a load of unexpected bets including a large number of new accounts … there could well be something in this,” said William Hill’s Rupert Adams.
Does the flurry of action mean people have some inside intel?
It’s unclear how they would know it if they did, but whatever the impetus behind the bets, people are also weighing in on Kate’s second baby’s name.
The current favorite is Elizabeth if she has a girl, with James the choice for a boy’s name. Diana and Arthur are among their rumored choices, as well.
As for whether there will be some scandalous sets of Kate Middleton bikini photos showing her baby bump this pregnancy, we’d put the odds at 25:1.
