Yesterday, it was revealed that actor Stephen Collins admitted to child molestation in tapes recorded by his therapist.
Collins accused his ex-wife, Fay Grant, of leaking the tapes. Though Grant has denied any involvement in the release of the shocking audio, she admits she was aware of her estranged husband’s history of sex crimes.
Entertainment Tonight has obtained court documents in which Collins’ wife of 27 speaks about his criminal past, and reveals that she believes the actor may have been engaging in inappropriate behavior for decades.
“I believe that Stephen used his celebrity status to engender the trust of the families of the children he molested,” Grant said in 2012. ”I further believe that there have been other victims, but he has thus far only confessed to those three girls.”
Grant goes on to say that she “never witnessed anything first hand,” but that Collins confessed to having sexual relations with three girls ranging in age from 10 to 14.
She says that following his confession, she reported his crimes to police in both New York and Los Angeles. It is not known why Collins was never arrested.
A police investigation is currently under way, and Collins might be taken into custody as early as today.
