Kate Middleton Weighs Cancelation of More Trips Due to Health Concerns

Still in the throes of morning sickness, Kate Middleton is weighing whether she is well enough to fly to Malta for two days of engagements on behalf of the Queen.

No word if this will touch off another chapter in her war with the Queen if she flakes.

America's Cup Beauty

Struggling mightily with severe morning pregnancy sickness, she’s in a tough spot.

Her doctors will have to consider if she is well enough to fly to Malta, where Kate Middleton is said to be eager to go, and a decision has yet to be made.

Her staff members at Kensington Palace are giving her as much time as possible to weigh her options, while holding out hope that she’ll be able to go.

At the same time they are also making contingency plans to send another member of the family, possibly her husband Prince William, in her place.

Kate, 32, is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, which also struck her during her first pregnancy with royal baby Prince George back in 2012.

Middleton is due to attend the official commemoration of Malta’s independence, a landmark visit for her following a personal invitation from the Queen.

Palace
sources have called it a seminal moment in Kate’s royal family life. Ironically, a seminal moment that occurred 2-3 months ago might derail it.

It is widely reported that she has not traveled since announcing she is pregnant with royal baby #2, and is being looked after by her mother, Carole Middleton.

Caitlin Dean of the charity Pregnancy Sickness Support and the author of Hyperemesis Gravidarum: A Definitive Guide, says she would be surprised if Kate goes.

“It’s hard enough being in a car with this condition,” she says.

“A major part of managing the condition is making sure you are able to rest, and even if you can do short periods of being up and about, you have to rest afterwards.

“Feeling a bit better, then doing too much and relapsing is very common. Once you are feeling better, you want to get up and do things, but you have to be careful.”

Veteran royal watcher and author Judy Wade says:

“She will pay attention to her doctors, of course. But I’m sure she is torn between duty to the Queen and devotion to her baby son and the forthcoming child.”

Here’s hoping she gets well soon in any case.

At least it’s worth it, right?
